Welcome back Tonya!

We are excited to have Tonya Paoli re-join our Leadership Team. Although Tonya took over a 3 year hiatus from AcroSports, she has not lost her ability to get things done, and has hit the ground running. In her new role as our Senior Support Specialist, Tonya will be supporting the Executive Director and the Leadership Team in the “post shutdown” rebuilding of AcroSports programs, focusing on recruiting, staff development, and communication.

Covid Updates

Wouldn’t you know it, just as we were about to “go to press” in this Zipline with our response to new City directives issued at the end of February, yet more changes have just been announced. It looks like San Francisco is soon to lift a number of mask and vaccine-related mandates, so we need to consult with our Board of Directors and staff – yet again! – to decide on AcroSports’ protocols moving forward. Look for us to issue new COVID-related policies within the next week or two!

It was a Wonderful Day in the Neighborhood!

On Saturday, February 26 AcroSports along with (Haight Ashbury Neighborhood Council-HANC, Coalition for a Complete Community, Senior Working Group, Cole Valley Haight Allies, Coalition on Homelessness, Homeless Youth Alliance, Larkin Street Youth Services, Booksmith, and the Institute for Aging) held an event at 730 Stanyan to demonstrate that the space can and should be used pending the start of construction of permanent affordable housing.

This was a coming together of children, families, seniors, community workers, and neighborhood residents. AcroSports’ coaches Jordan Moniz-Ramos and Tachiria Flamenco did an amazing job spotting and interacting with the children and families while they engaged in our activities which included tumbling and running on our Inflatable Fast Trak, navigating our obstacle course, face painting, and balloon animals to boot!
