No Way Out But Up: A Look Back at Our CircusLab Spring Show
What a weekend.
On May 22 and 23, our CircusLab performers took the stage at Great Star Theater for “No Way Out But Up,” an original circus arts showcase co-produced with SandiaCircus. Two days, three shows, one packed house after another, and a whole lot of proud parents in the seats.

The Story
It started as a simple bug hunt and turned into an adventure way bigger (and smaller) than anyone expected. When a group of curious kids stumbled on a mysterious coin in the grass, one wrong move shrank them down to bug size. Their ordinary garden became a wild jungle, and to survive it they had to leap, climb, balance, and fly past acrobatic insects, crawling creatures, and one daring challenge after another.
Along the way they met a group of kids who had been shrunk years before, and learned the secret to getting home. There was no way out but up.

What the Kids Pulled Off
This is the part we keep thinking about. The young performers in CircusLab spent months building toward this, and it showed. Tumbling passes, aerial work, balance, partner acrobatics, and the kind of stage presence that is hard to teach and incredible to watch in kids this age.
Every one of them stepped up. The nerves before a first entrance, the focus mid-routine, the giant grins during the bows. That is what circus is really about here, and it was all on display.

A Real Team Effort
A show like this does not happen alone. Huge thanks to everyone who made it real:
- SandiaCircus, our co-producing partners
- The Aerial Outpost
- Great Star Theater for hosting us
- And the coaches, staff, and families who poured their time and energy into every rehearsal

The response from our community said it all. Parents and friends filled the comments with the same word over and over: amazing. Talented young students, an unforgettable experience, and a lot of gratitude for the people who guided them there. We felt it from the front row to the back.
Until Next Time
To every performer who took the stage, you earned every cheer. To every family who came out, thank you for being there. And to anyone who missed it, keep an eye out, because CircusLab is just getting started.
